Amoss honored for conservation service

March 19, 2025

Harford Land Trust recognized William “Bill” D. Amoss of Fallston with its Conservation Award during its 2025 Annual Meeting on March 15 at the Baltimore Scouting Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation.

The award is the land trust’s highest honor, given to those who have made significant contributions to improving or protecting Harford County’s natural resources.

During his 34 years in government service, Bill helped permanently preserve over 60,000 acres of Harford County. He also held leadership roles with the Harford County Farm Bureau, the Harford County 4-H Camp, and Deer Creek Overlook and currently serves on the Harford County Agricultural Land Preservation Board.

Each year, Harford Land Trust presents its Conservation Award to an individual or group that has made a significant contribution or performed a special act that improves or protects Harford County’s natural resources.

With this award, Bill joins other celebrated local conservationists, including recent recipients John Sauers, Peter Jay, Bryon Bodt, Lawrason Sayre, and Deborah Bowers.
